Change: people, power, platfom, PRAYER.

"God fully expects the church of Jesus Christ to prove itself a miraculous group in the very midst of a hostile world. Christians, of necessity, must be in contact with the world but in being and spirit ought to be separated from the world. --- and as such we should be the most amazing people in the world." Tozer 1897-1963

"Competition versus Collaboration"
" So we learn that the key to success is cooperation. We have to cooperate to win anything from ball games to wars. We have to cooperate to keep the peace. We have to cooperate to elect public officials that we hope will be honest. We have to cooperate to operate a business . . . To move a church forward . . . To keep a home together . . . To build great institutions." Charles Hulin III

In order to effect change in our world... you need People, Power and a Platform.. That is the earthly model...and we are all submerged in these standards... We need to put a new lens into place and embrace Prayer as the framework which enables us to manage ALL issues with Power and Platform..

People are still in play presenting a huge variable.. and, you will definitely end up in conflict situations. Adversity is a GUARANTEE, Conflict is GUARANTEED. We are participating in the making of a "new order of things" but that order is not made by us, it is defined by GOD, and it is carried out by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We are on Defense and we are commanded to "stand our ground". putting on the full armor of God. We join God in his plan.. we don't beat people over the head with the Gospel. Thank God for the opportunities he provides you both blessings and adversity..

When you hit the wall and have conflicts, apply this lens to your own actions. All of the factors/vectors should be in play... Worry about what you do.. not what others do.. don't judge.. just "walk the walk".

Truth: Be completely honest and transparent in communications. the hard ones and the easy ones.. NO hidden agendas, no triangular conversations/manipulations.
Righteousness: Always do the right thing.. trusting your OWN conscience filtered through the bible, prayer, circumstances and the church. Listen and respect others, but "go to the source" for decisions and positions.. make your own decisions and be accountable for your own actions.
Peace: Seek to unify, include, and collaborate...not compete.. and Winning is a bad strategy when it becomes the entire goal... It is not enough to win, it is not enough to be right.
Faith: Boldly believe that God is in control of your life and his world...
Salvation: Ask for God's grace.. you cannot earn it. God loves you no matter what you do.

Embrace a spirit of constant growth.. Good to Great. Seek to find Greatness as you define it.. You have control.. The difference is in choices and discipline, not in consequences and luck.

People resist change.. Think about a change curve when you are leading or interacting with others.. family, friends, churches, communities, neighbors. You and the people around you have to move through this curve to embrace change of any kind.
A model that I have really found to be useful. This is known as the ADKAR change management methodology.

OVERALL: in the end you must look the source for how to live and MAKE GOD KNOWN. Jesus' life and example is unassailable.

Embrace humility.
Be accountable for your actions and others. Be honest about who you are, and use that to make a difference.
Love unconditionally and extravagantly.
Beware the enemy.. because we are in a fight to the end... which we cannot win on our own.
Complacency, Mediocrity, Blind Aggression, Autocratic/Dominating leadership

Ephesians 1 (The Message)
1 -2I, Paul, am under God's plan as an apostle, a special agent of Christ Jesus, writing to you faithful believers in Ephesus. I greet you with the grace and peace poured into our lives by God our Father and our Master, Jesus Christ.

3 -6How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He's the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.

7 -10Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we're a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.

11 -12It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.

13 -14It's in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what's coming, a reminder that we'll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.

Power Structures & Rules… THE LAW
Explicit power… above board
Real power… often below board… what does that mean

James 1 (The Message)

2 -4Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

5 -8If you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and won't be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who "worry their prayers" are like wind-whipped waves. Don't think you're going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.

19 -21Post this at all the intersections, dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God's righteousness doesn't grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.

22 -24Don't fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don't act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.

25But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.

Ephesians 6
10 -12And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.

13 -18Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

19 -20And don't forget to pray for me. Pray that I'll know what to say and have the courage to say it at the right time, telling the mystery to one and all, the Message that I, jailbird preacher that I am, am responsible for getting out.

Strength in spirit, lowliness in action...

God doesn't need you to fight his battle.. he needs you to join him trust in him, fear not..

Humility, Love and Lowliness in the face of "abundant freedom/grace

Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will help you, I will strengthen you, and I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.

Seek Greatness through God and the Holy Spirit...
Greatness is not related to consequences, it is a combination of choices and discipline..

Hebrews 5:11-6:3 (The Message) 11 -14 I have a lot more to say about this, but it is hard to get it across to you since you've picked up this bad habit of not listening. By this time you ought to be teachers yourselves, yet here I find you need someone to sit down with you and go over the basics on God again, starting from square one—baby's milk, when you should have been on solid food long ago! Milk is for beginners, inexperienced in God's ways; solid food is for the mature, who have some practice in telling right from wrong.
1 -3So come on, let's leave the preschool fingerpainting exercises on Christ and get on with the grand work of art. Grow up in Christ. The basic foundational truths are in place: turning your back on "salvation by self-help" and turning in trust toward God; baptismal instructions; laying on of hands; resurrection of the dead; eternal judgment. God helping us, we'll stay true to all that. But there's so much more. Let's get on with it!

A Good to Great Model.. Get the right people on the bus, in the right seats before you try to move...

Trust in the Lord.. in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING!!!
