Why? Because nasty things have totally messed up Kaylee Hensler’s life, that’s why. By the end of my new YA Horror novel, DFF: Dead Friend’s Forever, she barely escapes serving time in Juvie by going to a high-priced boarding school full of elite outcasts. Yeah, it’s not just homework, skating at the park, and hanging out with her best friend Davey anymore. She's been given the task of freeing trapped souls, whether she likes it or not.
While I can’t see ghosts and I don’t have to battle true evil on a fairly regular basis, Kaylee and I do have one thing in common. Both of us live in a small town in Wisconsin where everyone knows everyone. I didn’t always live here though. When I was eleven, we moved to the big city, and in Wisconsin, that means Milwaukee.
So when I went looking for music to accompany the trailer for DFF: Dead Friends Forever, I was ecstatic to run across The Etiquette. Not only do they have an awesome sound, they had the perfect song (One Fine Day) but they’re from Milwaukee as well.
“The Etiquette’s mix of hard-rock grime and refined pop has been a bright spot on the Milwaukee music scene for eight years, and Eugene III’s infectiously catchy songs, combined with the rest of the band’s all-out stage presence, led many to tip it as the city’s next big thing once upon a time. The Etiquette has been quiet for a while, spending a year working on its next record. But now that record, which is called Highly Unstable, is finally done and ready to go by early next year. Expect a hearty helping of that record at this show.”~Milwaukee Decider
Drop by MySpace and let The Etiquette know how awesome they sound. At my website you can read an excerpt of DFF and see what happens when Kaylee meets her first ghost!
