No Two Stories Are The Same

So far, none of the stories I've finished have been the same genre. They're like snowflakes; they refuse to copy one another.

In sixth grade I wrote an entire Oregon Trail journal. I wrote a fantasy novel in 7th grade. RAIN is about espionage. My latest story is a futuristic dystopia. I guess I'm not a one-genre kind of person.

I don't write my stories for the genre. Usually, I write them for the characters, and whatever the character needs to fulfill his or her story becomes the plot and subsequently the genre. My dystopia story is actually the only one I've written where I had the idea for the plot before the idea for the characters. However, once the story took off, the characters became the focus.
